Hey There! The the most heated topic other than Covid-19 is TikTok vs YouTube. Yeah! You may be knowing about this topic and also supporting YouTube as well. But this isn't good until and unless we would analyse them! So in this post I am going to tell about both of them. And at last I would also give my opinion about whom do I support.


What's on trending?

  • Everyone is just talking about TikTok Ban in India as this app is not good. 
  • This time things have been even more worse than before. Presently, #TikTokBan is in trending in Twitter.
  • Other than this, Tiktok's ratings in Play Store was more than 4.5 stars before. But today, most of the people has rated it 1 star. Thus, it's rating is gradually decreasing and is 1.3 stars at present.

  • This shows that Indian people hate Tiktok so much that it should be banned in India.

  • The first thing in Tiktok is that it has no dislike button. Due to this what happens is that the creators or people who post videos, they don't realise that what content they are actually posting. As there is no dislike button, people have to forcefully like that video and the creator, seeing those huge numbers of like; may think that viewers are really enjoying that. As a result, Tiktok is full of cringe content.
  • Also some people think that TikTok also has some good content. But I would say that it is full of 95% full of cringe content that is only a 'shit'. Yah, the remaining 5% has some motivational, valuable and educative content.
  • It has no freedom of speech. If you tell anything against Tiktok by making videos on it for 30 secs or 15 secs, they delete those videos or don't promote it and even also they don't get views. I think it's wrong. Meanwhile if you look at YouTube, it is just the opposite. YouTube gives you the freedom. Even if you say something wrong about it and post on YouTube itself, then YouTube tries to fix those things and improve rather than deleting videos or taking any action like Tiktok.
  • Thus if a platform which don't have this freedom to tell something against it, then what is the use it? I mean this is wrong and Tiktok must improve itself.
  • Next thing is vulgarity. If you are a active Tiktok user, then you may see those inappropriate or vulgar content. I mean those 18+ adult contents which is not good at all. I included this as this app is used by children, youths, students as well as people going office, even parents also. This shitty videos shouldn't be there. Imagine if you would be seeing videos and this thing comes, then it would have a bad impact that you already know. Recently some of the videos are found in TikTok promoting acid attacks against women and rape.

  • Now, this app is not safe for children. Notice that every child, every teenager is using Tiktok. And I think, this app is not good for children as it contains a lot of bad contents which they shouldn't see. Especially, children under 18 or 15 shouldn't use it.
  • Talking about the technicalities in Tiktok, the algorithms here is just a shit. It just recommends any video without thinking what the user actually likes to see. TikTok do not notice things that what videos should be recommended to the user. Imagine if a child of 10 or 11 years of age is seeing videos and Tiktok recommends under age videos which isn't right, then think what would happen! I think this thing is the worst an Tiktok needs to improve a lot in its algorithms.
  • Tiktok also has it's privacy issues. For example- what we see , our e-mail and password, our phone number and also what our phone contains; all these data is with TikTok. Again we don't know how Tiktok uses all these private datas.

  • You all know that TikTok is a Chinese app. And Chinese products are just hated by Indians. Now, all these data which is collected goes to China and are stored in Chinese servers. Thus there's a risk that how China will use these data.
  • TikTok also has a negative impact on the young generation. You may see that every child going to school or college is equipped with a smartphone obviously, and also a tripod only to make TikTok videos. I think this trend of making short videos on Tiktok and becoming famous just destroys your future. They don't care about their studies and don't plan their future but only making videos and becoming 'famous'. Some of the parents also support these things that their children would make videos and become a star. Some are also there who make videos of their children with themselves and upload it. Is it really right that you are encouraging your kid to make TikTok videos?
What TikTok Promotes?

  • It's good when you make these videos in your free time but if you think, Tiktok is only my future or I should make videos daily, then you are thinking wrong. I mentioned this because it's craze is so much that you might have heard a news that a boy of Noida commits suicide as he was not getting enough views and likes on Tiktok. Now just think that how dangerous is it if you are addicted to it. It really affects the youth. Children are leaving their important tasks like studies, their future plans etc just to make this shitty videos which actually don't have a value.

Pros:

  • TikTok is a short video making platform. It is designed for entertaining purpose. But recently after the incident of TikTok ban, they are promoting EduTalk. If you check going to Tiktok, #EduTalk is programme or a campaign which promotes giving some knowledge to people living in villages or people who are not educated by showing them valuable videos, teaching them what is right and what is wrong or inspiring them. Yes, Tiktok promotes these things which I liked.

  •  Secondly, TikTok promoted #MatKarForward which is also a campaign in which they featured some of famous celebrities. This campaign tells not to forward any fake news, or spread hate or abuse someone. If you want to give your opinion about something, then give it in a right way rather than using slangs or abusing someone.  This is also something which I liked as Tiktok brought a campaign and spread awareness among the people about what is wrong.

  • Tiktok also donated ₹100 crore medical equipments for Covid-19 pandemic in India. They also donated ₹5 crore to some NGOs in India in which the popular creators or influencers live streamed in TikTok and according to the number of views they have in their videos, TikTok donated some amount of that to the NGOs working to fight Covid-19. This thing is really nice to see a Chinese app donating to fight the pandemic.

  • TikTok is also good for people who really want to show their talent. As you know that it has only 5% of videos which include motivational videos, some creative videos or you will find some creative dancers, they actually show their talent. It is helpful for people who don't have money or don't have special equipments to make videos, for those only TikTok is really good. Remember that I'm not talking the people who make cringe content but those people who actually have a talent and they come to Tiktok to show it and become popular. 

My Opinion:

I don't know whether this Tiktok will be banned or not but this time it seems that the public is really very angry. I think that this time something can seriously happen. I can't say surely that TikTok will be banned as nothing will happen if a single person wants the ban. But what the public actually wants will surely happen. If you all seriously want that TikTok should be banned in India, then it must be banned. This is what I can say about this. Well, if you ask me about this topic then I'm with you; TikTok would be thrown out of India someday! #TikTokBanIndia
