What is a processor?
In simple words, processor is a machine that processes something. In terms of computing, the processor is computer chip that carries out instructions given by computer programs. Hence, it is responsible for all the tasks that a PC has to do.
Remember that "the processor is the central hub of your device".
You may have heard about the cores in a processor. Well, what does it actually mean? In realation to computer processors, a core is a processing unit that receives instructions and performs calculations and actions based on those instructions. Processors may have a single core or multiple cores. Some the examples are MediaTek Helio G90T (A octacore mobile processor) and Intel Core i3 9100F (A quadcore computer processor).
Thus we can conclude that a core is a processor. If a processor is quadcore, that means it has four cores in chip. Collectively, these cores make up a chip that is called as a processor.
nm Technology in Processors:
Have you ever wandered that if the processor is too small, then what will be the distance between the components that are present inside it? Well, Nanometer (nm) is a unit of measurement used to measure length inside a processor. Well, this unit is used while building extremely small machines. 1 Nanometer is equal to 1 billionth of a meter.
Different eras of processors are defined in nanometers, in which the number defines the distance the transistors and other components with the CPU. Some of the top processors such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ and Apple A13 Bionic are based on 7nm fabrication process where as computer processor like Intel Core i5 9400F is based on 14nm fabrication process.

Well, I am going to explain about the components of the processor in the upcoming post. I hope you guys have understood about this topic and must have fun while reading. Write
